Monitors, troubleshoots, and maintains the day-to-day operations of all Tulsa Metro locations to keep computer hardware and software at an optimal level of functioning. Plans and performs installation of new computer equipment. Coordinates schedules and leads training classes and provides individual training sessions for end-users. Researches and purchases new PCs, peripheral equipments and applications. Monitors, troubleshoots and maintains the telephone systems, fax machines, copiers and postage meter and security systems.
Special Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:
Knowledge of the principles and practices of computer programming logic. Knowledge of operating system and data base capabilities, installation and maintenance. Knowledge of the capabilities of microcomputers and peripheral devises. Operation and application knowledge of the following: MS Windows Operating Systems, XP, Lotus Notes, Vista & Windows 7, knowledge of MS office including Access, printers/copiers troubleshooting, software and phone systems maintenances. Ability to meet attendance requirements and to read, write and communicate the English language. Lifting up to 50 lbs, travel, walking, and standing.
Education and Experience Required:
Two years college or technical school degree in Computer Science or related filed. Three years progressively responsible experience selecting, installing, troubleshooting and repairing a variety of computer information systems and computer environments common to the Salvation Army. Or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
ACT Program Tutors (Math
Appx. 6 hours per week
Brief Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare high school students for college entrance exams by tutoring reading comprehension, composition, math, science, and grammar skills; provide peer counseling, basic skills testing, and evaluation
- Assess students’ testing strengths and weaknesses
- Teach good study habits and test-taking skills
- Teach research strategies for identifying appropriate colleges, trade schools or vocational training, and identifying appropriate scholarships and financial aid
- Assist students to apply and qualify for National Merit and National Achievers scholarships
- Use technology and the Internet to support studying, tutoring and research
- Compile statistical data on attendance, academic progress and test scores
Special Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:
- Ability to teach youth in a classroom setting
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
- Self-motivated and creative
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills
- CPR and First Aid certification
Education and Experience Required:
- Four-year teaching degree in Math or English from an accredited college or university
